Hot Yoga on a Cold Day

yoga-mats-1620086As part of my 16 in 2016, I set out to do yoga twice a month.  I went twice in January and hit up my first February class on Saturday at Sumits Yoga. I hadn’t heard of this studio, but discovered it thanks to Classpass.  I had somewhere to be at 11:30 and this class fit in perfectly with my schedule–it was at 9am, so I wasn’t up at the crack of dawn, and was able to shower, eat some of my sweet potato egg bake, and get ready before heading out the door.

On a chilly winter day, hot yoga is the PERFECT way to warm up.  I really enjoyed this studio and class.  If power/vinyasa and bikram had a baby, it would be this 60 minute class.

The Calming Effect of Walking Outside

This past weekend I took a quick trip to Seattle (flew in Thursday night, flew out Saturday around noon) and while I didn’t have enough time to fully appreciate all the city has to offer, I was able to find a park near my hotel to wander around in Saturday morning before my flight took off.

As I walked around, I was entranced with how lush and green everything was here! I felt a sense of calm immediately wash over me.  These pictures really don’t do the scene justice.

10 Day Detox Diet Overview

For anyone wondering about weight loss, I stopped weighing myself a few weeks ago so I don’t have before/after numbers on that. I can say that I got smaller, because I took measurements of my waist, hips, butt, and thigh and they all decreased.

Day 9: 10 Day Detox Diet

This started off with me still not feeling that great.  The roof of my mouth still hurts and my headache is still there.  My sleep was also pretty restless.  This led me to another low key workout, where I just walked on an incline for 30 minutes.

I got ready for work, had my supplements and pgx, then headed out the door.  I had another hour and a half commute today, so I drank my smoothie (made the night before) while driving.  My mom called me while driving and I ended up getting distracted and I missed my exit.  There is no easy turn around, so my reroute added another 15 minutes.  I knew I would be late, so I was going over speed limit and got pulled over 😦 Speeding tickets are no fun! I either have to go to court or driving school, both are 45-60 minutes away since I got the ticket in a different county from where I live, and I owe $140 (or $240 if I go to court instead of school).  Lesson learned!!
